Giovanni Malagò re-elected CONI President

The CONI National Council re-elected @giovannimalago with 55 votes to lead the Italian National Olympic Committee for the 2021-2024 period. Thirteen votes went to former Cycling Federation President Renato Di Rocco and one to Olympic champion @antobellutti. Giovanni Malagò was confirmed at the helm of CONI for the next four years. Malagò, in office since 19 February 2013, was re-elected by a large majority by the National Council which met this morning in Milan, at the Tennis Club Bonacossa, where 75 years ago (precisely on 27 July 1946) Giulio Onesti was elected for the first time to lead the institution. The President, in the Assembly chaired by IOC honorary member Franco Carraro, obtained 55 votes (79.71% of the valid votes), beating challengers Renato Di Rocco, former Cycling Federation President, who collected 13 votes (18.84%), and Olympic cycling champion Antonella Bellutti, one vote (1.45%). As of today he becomes the 3rd longest-serving President in CONI history, after Giulio Onesti and Gianni Petrucci.
