Comites Cup St. Gallen 2026: U17 women's football in the spotlight at the Gründenmoos

On Saturday 27 June 2026 the Sportanlage Gründenmoos in St. Gallen hosts the Comites Cup St. Gallen 2026, an international Under 17 women's football tournament organised by the Comites of St. Gallen (Culture, Sport and Leisure Committee). Eight of the most representative teams from Italy, Germany and Switzerland will compete for the trophy from 10:00 to 19:00, with free entry. Taking the field at the Gründenmoos will be SSC Napoli, Hellas Verona, VfB Stuttgart, 1. FC Union Berlin, BSC Young Boys Bern, Grasshopper Club Zürich, FC Zürich and FC St. Gallen. The format includes a group stage followed by a double elimination phase, with a winners' bracket and a losers' bracket: each team will play at least five matches over the course of the day. The initiative was created with a clear goal: to give visibility to youth women's football and offer U17 athletes an international sporting stage, in a setting designed for families. The organisers expect between 500 and 800 visitors, with on-site catering, continuous entertainment and a prize tombola in the afternoon, before the final award ceremony. Alongside the competition, the tournament aims to strengthen the network between the Italian community of St. Gallen and the youth sectors of the regional football clubs. An opportunity for those who play football, those who follow it and those who believe the women's game deserves spaces and opportunities for competition at continental level.
